| コメント | 川上はこれまで「木」をモチーフに繰り返し作品を描いてきた。ゲルインクボールペンを用いて数ヶ月掛けて1つの作品を完成させるという。流動性のある縞模様のカラフルな平面構成が特徴で、細いペン先で隙間なく色を敷き詰めていく。その筆致は静謐さの中にも力強さを感じさせ、色の変わり目はインク切れのタイミングで生まれるが、その偶然性は、世界のままならなさを示すかのよう。（水田美世） |
| comment | Kawakami is well known for works of art with the Japanese character “tree" repeated in them. Kawakami uses gel pens in a process that takes several months to complete. In this work of art, the gel pens' fine tips and fluid ink allow the lush colors to blend seamlessly into each other in a striped pattern across the plane composition. Those brushstrokes entice a feeling of power born from serenity. When the ink runs out, he changes the color. A random happening that points to a reality that is not as expected. (Miyo Mizuta) |
